Social Impact

Programs Latin America

Each specialty coffee microlot has a significant social impact, not only in providing a fair price to producers for the quality of their green coffee beans but also by supporting small, outstanding coffee growers. This support delivers a positive and powerful message that translates into prosperity for the coffee grower community, fostering good practices and encouraging coffee growers to excel in producing high-quality coffee.

However, we believe there is still much more to do. We aim to maximize our capabilities to do better, giving back to the communities, and spreading goodwill along the way. Taking this belief into action, we have embarked on a significant initiative – establishing a fund to support exceptional organizations, with impactful social programs implemented in the countries of origin for our coffees. We strongly believe that these programs play a vital role in creating a more inclusive world, while providing essential support to vulnerable populations.

The Fund

Starting January 2024, Altitude Specialty Coffeehouse B.V. has initiated the creation of a social fund. This fund is dedicated to championing impactful social programs in Latin America, specifically addressing the pressing issues faced by vulnerable populations. Committed to making a difference, we allocate 5% of our commercial revenue to fuel this important initiative. We invite you to stand with us in this transformative venture. By choosing our coffee, in addition to its outstanding quality and distinctive cup profile, you are becoming an integral part of our social partnership. Your selection directly fuels vital social programs in the coffee-producing countries, empowering remarkable coffee growers and contributing to positive change. Thank you for being a change-maker and for supporting our collective journey towards a brighter future.

Every coffee we offer is connected to social programs designed to meet specific needs in the countries of origin. By doing so, we not only provide value to the vulnerable communities in that nation, but also ignite a positive ripple effect, contributing to the development of solutions for specific social challenges.

Each coffee sale is meticulously documented in our accounting system, capturing every transaction detail. Every quarter, a comprehensive report is generated, and the fund disburses the accumulated amount to the foundation overseeing the partnered social programs.

Collaborating for Social Impact

Panabus

Panabus, a social program designed to provide fundamental services to homeless people in Caracas, Venezuela. The program has the aim of dignifying homeless people as human beings and working towards their social reintegration. Through specialized mobile units Panabus, in its first approach to homeless people, delivers five fundamental services to this vulnerable population as:

• Personal Hygiene

• Clothes Changing

• Hair, Beard and Nail Care

• Health Care

• Nutrition

To be able to better address each individual, Panabus has in place a post-attention program. The program, led by a social work team and a medical team, is designed for those individuals that have the will to transition away from homelessness, and work towards social reintegration. These activities give Panabus’ team an effective approach towards reducing homelessness in Caracas.
