About

Our Journey & Philosophy

Born in 2021 in Amsterdam, Altitude Specialty Coffeehouse emerged from a thrilling and transformative coffee odyssey that commenced in Colombia during 2019. Our approach to coffee sourcing is based on delivering high value to our customers by supplying outstanding coffees with impactful social value. We are committed to ensuring a fair price for producers’ extraordinary coffees, recognizing them as the true champions of coffee culture and often the most vulnerable link in the commercial chain.

Our concept is based in a collaborative approach, setting-up strategic alliances with producers and coffee enthusiasts, to better address each step along the way in supplying extraordinary coffees in a sustainable and impactful way. Because, for a coffee bean to reach a specific roastery with an outstanding quality, starting at the farm, each step of the process needs to be addressed with professionalism and high-quality standards.

Our European team is based in Amsterdam (NL), Rome (IT) and Bucharest (RO) get in touch with us and let us know how we may support your green coffee needs.

Our Coffee Lab

Once the coffee has arrived to the warehouse in Antwerp, samples are taken from each coffee lot and sent to our coffee lab in Amsterdam, where we perform a full analysis of each coffee, which includes:

  • Green Coffee Analysis
    • Odor
    • Color
    • Humidity % (AgraTronix Coffee Tester)
    • Density
    • Selection (under SCA protocol)
  • Roasted Coffee Analysis
    • Roast performance (with IKAWA Pro)
    • Sensorial Analysis (under SCA protocol)

This is an important protocol that helps us analyze how the coffee arrives at the warehouse after its export process, which may take between 3 to 4 weeks depending on port and vessel activities.
